Phil Hughes: Back in Pinstripes

Phil Hughes made his return to pinstripes today after a stint on the disabled list. In Hughes’ last major league appearance (May 1st) he carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning; with 1 out Hughes was pulled from the game after straining his left hamstring. Hughes’ return would have came sooner had he not sprained his left ankle while executing conditioning drills on May 25. Hughes was named International League Pitcher of the Week while rehabbing in the minors. (Phil went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 12 2/3 innings). With the addition of Hughes to the pitching rotation the Yankees, look for Yankee pitching to go on a roll down the stretch.
