And history was made; No Alex Rodriguez did not hit homerun 500 tonight, but the Yankees accomplished another feat tonight. The Yanks tied a franchise record tonight by hitting 8 homeruns during Tuesday’s game at The Stadium. This feat was previously set on June 28, 1939 against the Philadelphia Athletics.  Bobby Abreu, Robinson Cano, Jorge Posada, Johnny Damon, Melky Cabrera, and Shelly Duncan all hit a homerun tonight. Hideki Matsui hit 2 homeruns tonight for the Yankees. Alex Rodriguez was held hitless going 0 for 5 tonight.

As to be expected (in a one sided game), the game was laced with ejections. White Sox Manager, Ozzie Guillen was ejected by home plate umpire Phil Cuzzi in the first inning and White Sox first baseman, Paul Konerko, was ejected by home plate umpire Phil Cuzzi in the 6th inning. Tonight’s game was a real thriller. Yankees won tonight’s opener 16-3

FINAL WHISPER: Let’s hope tomorrow is just as exciting (wait… all Yankees games are exciting)!
